Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati Arrival 
• Arrive in Guwahati and gather at the designated pick-up point, where you will meet your fellow travellers and trip captain for a brief introduction.
• Depart for Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its unique biodiversity. Enjoy scenic views of the countryside during the 4-hour drive, passing through quaint villages and lush tea gardens.
• Upon arrival, check into your hotel in Kaziranga and take some time to freshen up.
• Indulge in a delicious dinner featuring local Assamese cuisine, giving you a taste of the region's culinary delights.
• Spend the night in Kaziranga, preparing for the adventures ahead.

 

Day 2: Kaziranga Safari 
• Rise early for a refreshing breakfast before heading out for an exciting jungle safari in Kaziranga. Accompanied by expert naturalists, you'll explore the park in open jeep safaris, increasing your chances of spotting the Great One-Horned Rhinoceros, Asian elephants, wild buffalo, and various bird species.
• After the safari, return to the hotel to relax and enjoy lunch while sharing your wildlife encounters with fellow travelers.
• Check out from the hotel and embark on your journey to Bomdila, a picturesque town that offers stunning views of the Himalayas.
• En route, stop for a short break to enjoy local snacks and admire the scenic landscapes. If time permits, visit the Bomdila Buddhist Monastery, known for its intricate architecture and serene atmosphere.
• Arrive in Bomdila and check into your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the local market or relaxing at your accommodation.

Day 3: Explore Bomdila 
• After breakfast, check out of the hotel and prepare for a scenic drive to Tawang. The journey takes you through the majestic Sela Pass, located at an altitude of 13,700 feet, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and alpine lakes.
• Stop at the Sela Lake, a stunning glacial lake that changes colors with the seasons, making it a perfect photo opportunity.
• Continue your journey to Tawang, and on the way, visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to the brave soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat, who fought valiantly during the Indo-China War. Take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the Indian armed forces.
• Arrive in Tawang, where you'll check into your hotel and unwind. The evening is free for you to explore Tawang at your own pace or indulge in cafe hopping to taste local delicacies.
• Enjoy dinner at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay in Tawang.

 

Day 4: Bum La Pass & Lakes Excursion
• Start your day with an early breakfast before setting out to visit Bum La Pass, one of the most scenic and off-beat passes in the region, located at 15,200 feet. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the Indo-China border and the surrounding mountains.
• Visit the pristine P.T. Tso Lake, nestled in the lap of the Eastern Himalayas, where you can enjoy the tranquil beauty and perhaps spot migratory birds.
• Continue to Madhuri Lake, named after the Bollywood actress who filmed a famous song here, where you can take in the serene surroundings and capture picturesque moments.
• Return to Tawang in the afternoon and have the rest of the day at leisure. Explore local markets, interact with residents, or simply relax at your hotel.
• Enjoy a delightful dinner and an overnight stay in Tawang.

 

Day 5: Tawang Local Sightseeing
• After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour starting with Tawang Monastery, known as Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, which is the largest monastery in India and holds significant historical and spiritual importance.
• Explore the Urgelling Monastery, one of the oldest Gompas in Tawang, which is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Learn about its rich history and spiritual practices.
• Visit the Giant Buddha statue, standing 30 feet tall, which offers stunning views of the surrounding areas from an elevation of 10,000 feet.
• Stop at the ancient Chakzam Bridge, a 600-year-old bridge suspended over the Tawang River, and enjoy the picturesque views of the valley below.

Day 6: Journey from Tawang to Dirang
• After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Dirang, a charming hill station adorned with lush greenery and snow-capped mountains.
• On the way, visit the stunning Jung Falls, a beautiful waterfall that gained fame after being featured in the movie Koyla. Take a short trek to the falls and enjoy the serene surroundings.
• Explore local apple orchards and kiwi gardens if in season, and learn about the cultivation processes from the friendly locals.

Day 7: Dirang to Guwahati

• Continue your journey, taking in the beautiful landscapes and cultural sites along the way.
• Arrive in Guwahati in the evening and check into your hotel, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 8: Departure from Guwahati
